One of the best lessons I learned about love was one day when I was shopping with a friend. We were at the Prada store in Venice — Venice, Italy that is — so the romancing had begun before I even walked in the Prada store’s front door. Anyway I watched as my friend found a gorgeous jacket and started to try it on. She started to put it on and then stopped herself. She said: “I want to see how much it costs before I fall in love.” I never forgot that in regards to clothes but then later after I got married I realized how sage that wisdom is when it comes to romantic relationships. Of course, its a pretty wise strategy when keeping your head on your shoulders in the face of incredible clothes on your body. It sort of amazes me though how similar the two things are: boyfriends and clothes.
